Given that depression is a response to a significant loss, and loss is constitutive of the subject who speaks, the subject of desire, how to treat that subject’s depression when it is defined by an annulling of desire? How can the effect of the treatment lead to an uncovering of the desire that depression masks and allow for the possibility of that subject’s re-attachment to life?
